| Creating a Soft focus Dreamy effect for your photos |
|
First download the photo of Japanese Cherry blossom also known as sakura on flickr, or you can use your own, it could be a wedding, vacation trip or your love one.
Open up our photo on Photoshop, and then duplicate it [Ctrl J].
Select your duplicated layer, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, the radius must be equal or higher than 5.
Then Change its blending mode to overlay.
and that's the first end result we got in here, you have done a soft focus effect on our photo, next would be making it more dream like. Duplicate your sakura layer and put it underneath our previews overlayed layer, and change its blending mode to lighten, (you can use screen in some photo depends on the kind of photo you are using) then put down the opacity to 63% or lower, just make sure it wont look exaggerate.
and that would be our final result, a complete tranformation of a photo into a dream with soft focus effect.

But I guess this does not apply to human portrait where the eyes would be lost if I follow this technique in soft focus?
Excellently written article, if only all bloggers offered the same content as you, the internet would be a much better place. Please keep it up!
